Dear all,
Today we merged a large merge request for NekMesh, which is part of a long-term project to significantly improve performance, reduce memory usage, and provide interoperability between meshing routines and solvers.
Given that this merge request involved changing code in all of our modules and essentially rewriting using a new set of data structures, if you are using NekMesh on master please be aware that you may encounter issues. If this is the case please let us know on this thread!
Also, due to this potential instability, until the next major release of NekMesh, you will see the following warning printed:
[NekMesh] NOTE: NekMesh has undergone a major refactoring see MR !2752)
[NekMesh] Although user experience should be identical and performance improved, there may be issues.
[NekMesh] If you find any issues, please report them to the Nektar++ forum: https://forum.nektar.info
Finally, I think it is important to note that this was a significant body of work spanning a number of years, so many thanks to @kaloyan.kirilov, Ted Stokes, Ed Laughton and many others who have contributed to its development, and as well to @jxing and Arthur Bawin for helping review!
Dave
